Castle Rock’s Sweetest Day is Back!
Lemonade Stands 2025 • Saturday, August 16, 2025 • 1:00–4:00 PM
On Saturday, August 16th from 1–4 PM, kids all over Castle Rock will be setting up their very own Lemonade Stands — and they’re not just serving lemonade! You’ll find everything from refreshing drinks to tasty treats, handmade crafts, and fun surprises. Bring your friends, grab your walking shoes (or your car keys), and see how many stands you can visit. Every dollar goes straight to our town’s youngest entrepreneurs, so let’s show them some love and help them turn their big dreams into sweet success!
Organized by the DoCR (Dads of Castle Rock). All kids are welcome to participate.
Tip: Zoom and pan to plan your route. Share the map with friends!
What to Expect at Stands

More Than Lemonade: A First Step into Entrepreneurship
To the casual passerby, a lemonade stand might look like a classic summer activity. But in reality, it’s often the very first spark of entrepreneurship. Kids dream up products, design signage, plan supply lists, set prices, handle cash, greet customers, and adapt based on feedback. It’s a hands-on masterclass in business essentials—packaged in joy, creativity, and community.
These micro–business experiences build confidence and practical skills: communication, teamwork, budgeting, problem-solving, and resilience. When a child sees their idea turn into a line of happy customers, they learn a life-changing lesson: “I can build something real.”
Why Your Support Matters
Every cup you buy sends a powerful message: Your ideas matter. Your effort matters. You can do this. A few encouraging words and a couple of dollars today can plant a seed that grows for decades. As the Douglas County Local Business Alliance (DCLBA), we’ve seen this story repeat: early encouragement leads to confident teens, ambitious young adults, and—eventually—local business owners who employ neighbors, sponsor teams, and shape the future of our economy.
- Confidence: Kids see their ideas come to life and feel community support.
- Ownership: They make decisions, learn from mistakes, and celebrate wins.
- Community: Neighbors connect, smile, and invest in the next generation.
How You Can Make August 16th a Huge Success
- Show Up: Use the map, bring friends, and visit as many stands as you can.
- Support Generously: Buy a drink, a cookie, and that bracelet they made.
- Encourage: Praise the signage, the price list, the customer service—everything!
- Share: Post a photo (with permission), tag your neighborhood group, and spread the word.
- Return: If you see a stand again later in the day, swing back by for round two.
A Community Built on Small Business
Castle Rock thrives because of neighbors who invest in one another. The same entrepreneurial spirit that powers our contractors, shopkeepers, restaurateurs, and service providers is alive in these young stand-owners. Support a stand today, and you might be meeting a future bakery owner, tech founder, or builder—right here in Douglas County.
This town-wide event is proudly organized by the DoCR. From all of us at the Douglas County Local Business Alliance (DCLBA), thank you for showing up for our kids.
Let’s turn a simple glass of lemonade into a lifelong love of building, leading, and serving.
